Changelog

Beta builds (beta.iterary.com)

Nothing new on the beta right now — it is running the same version as the release below.

Releases

1.10.0 (Latest)

  • Sections: put a Deck, Dice, Table or Bag inside another container as a thin section with its own buttons; the parent's Roll All rolls every Dice section
  • Dice View: Detailed, Compact (tap a die to roll just it, hold or hover to see its faces) or Stack; compact dice sit at full height, just leaner
  • Counters redesigned: a big number with a full-width − | + bar under it, never cut off
  • New gallery game RPG Table, a ready-to-run party; RPG Dice and Basic RPG Character refreshed with compact, colored dice and the new counters
  • Crates inside a group show only the controls that group uses, and Notes, Lists and Logs can have a colored title bar
  • Inspector: every crate's settings in the same order (Content, Rules, Layout, Appearance, Sharing), each section folds; Items Scale reads as a multiplier
  • Embeds (early): Copy embed code (Inspector > Sharing) puts one playable crate inside another website

1.9.1

  • Trays: dragging a crate in or out of an open tray shows just one copy of it, and crates left in the tray stay where they are
  • Drag a tool straight from the insert bar onto the table or into an open tray, or pick a tool then click inside the tray
  • Trays only show Stash and Take out when there is something to stash or take out, and the "+ Add" button is gone (drag a group in from the table or the insert bar instead)

1.9.0

  • Import from Tabletop Simulator (trial): paste a TTS Workshop link and Iterary rebuilds its decks, tokens, tiles, boards, bags and hand zones, with custom dice keeping their face art
  • Card sheets: cut one image holding a grid of cards into your image library, then use any card for any picture or fill a deck with one card per cell
  • Peek at any card big and readable (hold Alt, or turn on peek-on-hover in the ⋮ menu)
  • Decks: collapse Hand, Deck or Discard to a pile, hide the action bar, and drop a card from anywhere onto a Discard or Deck pile
  • A livelier table: dice tumble, cards flip and deal into your hand, bag pulls pop in (all of it follows your reduced-motion setting)
  • Gallery games get their own pages with a real board screenshot and what is inside them, plus how-to guides at /guides
  • Sharing leads with the short link, and short links show the game in Bluesky, Discord and other link previews
  • Big games stay quick, card images are cached in your browser, a privacy page, Drafts in the ⋮ menu, and many fixes
  • Every page can be found in search again: a complete sitemap, each page with its own title and address, and real “page not found” pages

1.8.0

  • Pictures everywhere: pick a standard icon, an image link or a text badge for counters, die faces, cards and board pieces, from the inspector or by right-clicking any crate
  • Your own image library, kept in this browser: save image links once, reuse them in any game, update them everywhere at once, export and import it
  • Board pieces and trays can show a token picture instead of their full face
  • Safer saving: names with / or . work, saving over a different game asks first, and opening another game keeps the previous board in Drafts
  • Night mode polish: selected toggles and tabs are a soft raised brown, and picture tint starts from the color already shown
  • Ads off the table: one small ad at the end of the editing panel on desktop, never in play mode or on phones
  • Many fixes: big games save again, shared-link owners keep recent edits on reload, old games no longer grow on reload, and more

1.7.0

  • The rebuilt Iterary is now the main site — same saves, same share links; the previous version lives on at classic.iterary.com
  • Infinite canvas: place areas anywhere, pan and zoom, alignment guides as you drag, and resize from any edge or corner
  • One inspector panel for editing — docked on the right, full-screen on a phone
  • New areas: Board (a grid of cells), Tray (areas inside areas), Bag (pull at random), and private Tables for pass-and-play
  • Stack and Fan layouts on every container, with Top / Up / Down / Bottom to restack a pile
  • Card layout templates, two-sided cards, per-card click actions (zoom, flip, rotate, show text) and bulk deck copies
  • Per-face dice icons, and dice that keep their rolled faces and selection through share links and reloads
  • Undo and redo for everything, the Log line included
  • Short /g/ links that stay up to date as you edit, and ?mode=play links that open straight into play
  • Night mode, whole-table and per-area rotation, and per-area title and background colors
  • Phones: pinch to zoom, a toolbar that fits the screen, and opening a game frames the whole table
  • Gallery: MTG Sandbox added, MTG Puzzle #1 rebuilt with real art

1.6.1

  • Auto-sized text: card titles, descriptions, and dice results scale to fit their container
  • Small board pieces show content-first with header/toolbar hidden when too tiny
  • Chess and Civilization Board Game added to Gallery

1.6.0

  • New Board crate: grid-based area for placing pieces at specific cells
  • Drag pieces between Board and other crate groups with live cell preview
  • Pieces scale as a percentage of their cell to fit the grid
  • Board background image, column/row configuration, and persistent piece positions
  • Width-aware toolbar: buttons collapse into overflow menu on small cards
  • Card title prioritized over description when space is limited
  • Drag handle moved to far right of toolbar for easier access
  • Board resize performance: eliminated Polymer iron-resize cascade

1.5.5

  • CSV import with intelligent column mapping and preview
  • Import cards, dice, and counters from CSV files
  • Tabletop Simulator CSVDeck format compatibility
  • File picker and paste support for CSV data
  • Added footer to all pages

1.5.3

  • Redesigned Guide page with improved layout and descriptions
  • Number crate slider now fits within its container
  • Cards with images now have a text overlay button to read full descriptions

1.5.0

  • Added Gallery page for browsing community game prototypes
  • Examples moved into Gallery as built-in cards
  • Toolbar cleanup: save/load grouped under cloud menu
  • Improved Load dialog layout and centering
  • Wider Share dialog for long URLs

1.4.3

  • Redesigned About page
  • Added social links and Bluesky
