Import a Tabletop Simulator Workshop game

Have a deck or a game on the Tabletop Simulator Steam Workshop? Iterary can read it and rebuild it as a table you can open in a browser, without Steam or a download. Import from TTS Workshop is a trial feature: it handles cards and flat pieces well, and tells you up front what it leaves out.

How to import

  1. Copy the Workshop item link from Steam (it looks like steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=...). The bare item id works too.
  2. In the editor, open the ⋮ menu and choose Import from TTS Workshop.
  3. Paste the link and press Look it up. Iterary fetches the item details and downloads the save file.
  4. Read the summary: how many decks, cards, tokens, tiles, boards, bags and hand zones come in, and what is left out. Nothing changes until you confirm.
  5. Press Open as a new game. Your current game is kept in Drafts, in the ⋮ menu, so you can get back to it.

What comes across

Decks become Iterary decks, with each card cut from its card sheet. Tokens and tiles land as pieces on a board, where they sat on the TTS table. Bags, hand zones, notes, counters and dice come along too, and custom six-sided dice keep their face art.

Scripts and 3D models are left out, and custom dice other than a d6 come in with numbered faces. The summary lists every skipped item, so there are no surprises.

Card sheets go into your image library

TTS stores cards as big sheets of images in a grid. The import adds each sheet to My library, the image library kept in your browser, with its grid already cut, and every card links to its cell.

The images stay hosted where the Workshop item put them. Iterary links to them and never copies them. If a sheet moves later, re-cut it or give it a new link in the library and the game can update to the new version.

Before you import

Only import games you have the rights to use, such as your own designs or items whose creators allow it. Workshop data comes from Steam; Iterary is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve.

Once imported, it is an ordinary Iterary game: edit any card, add counters or a Log, and share it with a link.
